University Communication and Media Relations

To spread the word about the quality education at UNC and its contributions to the community, state and nation, the office generates news releases and story ideas for local, state and national media and responds to media and public requests for information.

We compile and publish the "UNC Experts List," which puts media and community groups together with faculty members specializing in a wide range of topics, and produce UNC Today, a daily electronic newsletter, to keep our faculty and staff informed of issues, events and honors. We also provide training and assistance for staff members who want to better understand how to respond to the media in promoting their courses, research and students.
