Student Life
It’s easier to succeed when it’s easier to connect.
That’s why at UNC, we make it simple for you to connect with the people and resources that can help you thrive at the university. Our campus has a unique energy about it, thanks to the friendly, outgoing, interesting and diverse people who live, work and go to school here. When you’re ready for a break from studying, UNC is ready for you.
- Our amazing Campus Recreation Center offers three multi-purpose gyms, climbing wall, racquetball courts, pool, indoor track, fitness classes, wellness education, holographic exercise equipment and special events.
- We have enough intercollegiate, club and intramural sports to keep you busy, as a spectator and an athlete.
- More than 150 academic, cultural, religious, professional and special interest clubs and organizations.
- Greek fraternities and sororities, with residences available for members who are upperclassmen.
- On-campus concerts, film and lecture series, theatre performances, art gallery showings, impromptu jam sessions, performances by comedians like Josh Blue and Margaret Cho and campus competitions, including UNC Idol.
Bear Pride is a way of life.
Our students love the excitement of Division I sports—both as competitors and as spectators. With the support of our excellent coaching staffs, athletes can achieve success physically and academically. And with eight NCAA Men’s sports and 10 Women’s sports, there’s always something to cheer about.
