Information About Orientation

Dates and Sessions

Students attend the orientation session for the college that hosts their major.  For example, students with a major in Biology would attend the session for the College of Natural & Health Sciences.  See the complete list of colleges and their majors.

Students declared Pre-Business and Exploratory - Seeking Business should attend sessions for exploratory students.

UNC manages the enrollment in freshmen level courses throughout the summer.  No particular orientation session has a registration advantage over any other. Each session is allotted spaces for fall semester classes.

The cost of orientation for students is included in their Fall tuition bill. 

Getting Here

Coming from the North (Cheyenne and Fort Collins)

  • Take I-25 southbound to US Highway 34 eastbound (exit 257A)
  • Take US Highway 34 eastbound to 11th Ave. – turn left
  • Take 11th Ave. north to 20th St.  – turn right
  • Take 20th St. east one block to 10th Ave. – turn right
  • Take 10th Ave. south one-half block - turn right into the University Center north parking lot A OR Take 10th Ave. south three-fourths block - turn right into the University Center south parking lot B

Coming from the South (Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Castle Rock and Denver)

Via I-25

  • Take I-25 northbound to US Highway 34 eastbound (exit 257A)
  • Take US Highway 34 eastbound to 11th Ave. – turn left
  • Take 11th Ave. north to 20th St.  – turn right
  • Take 20th St. east one block to 10th Ave. – turn right
  • Take 10th Ave. south one-half block - turn right into the University Center north parking lot A OR Take 10th Ave. south three-fourths block - turn right into the University Center south parking lot B

Via US Highway 85

  • Take I-25 northbound to I-76 eastbound (exit 216)
  • Take I-76 eastbound to US Highway 85 northbound (exit 12)
  • Take US Highway 85 northbound to Evans
  • As you approach Evans, take the US Highway 85 Business Route to Greeley
  • At 23rd St., US Highway 85 Business Route becomes 8th Ave.
  • Take 8th Ave. north to 20th St. – turn left
  • Take 20th St. west two blocks to 10th Ave. – turn left
  • Take 10th Ave. south one-half block - turn right into the University Center north parking lot A OR Take 10th Ave. south three-fourths block - turn right into the University Center south parking lot B

Coming from the East (Fort Morgan and Sterling)

  • Take I-76 to US Highway 34 westbound
  • Take 11th Ave. north to 20th St. – turn right
  • Take 20th St. east one block to 10th Ave. – turn right
  • Take 10th Ave. south one-half block - turn right into the University Center north parking lot A OR Take 10th Ave. south three-fourths block - turn right into the University Center south parking Lot B

Coming from the West (Grand Junction, Glenwood Springs and Vail)

  • Take I-70 eastbound to I-76 eastbound (exit 269B)
  • Take I-76 eastbound to US Highway 85 northbound (exit 12)
  • Take US Highway 85 northbound to Evans
  • As you approach Evans, take the US Highway 85 Business Route to Greeley
  • At 23rd St., US Highway 85 Business Route becomes 8th Ave.
  • Take 8th Ave. north to 20th St. – turn left
  • Take 20th St. west two blocks to 10th Ave. – turn left

Coming from Denver International Airport

Using Toll Roads

  • Take Peña Bolevard west to northbound E470 (Toll Road)
  • Take E 470 US Highway 85 (exit 38)
  • Take US Highway 85 northbound to Evans
  • As you approach Evans, take the US Highway 85 Business Route to Greeley
  • At 23rd St., US Highway 85 Business Route becomes 8th Ave.
  • Take 8th Ave. north to 20th St. – turn left
  • Take 20th St. west two blocks to 10th Ave. – turn left
  • Take 10th Ave. south one-half block - turn right into the University Center north parking lot A OR Take 10th Ave. south three-fourths block - turn right into the University Center south parking lot B

Non-Toll Road Route

  • Take Peña Bolevard west to Tower Road
  • Take Tower Road north to 104th Ave. – turn left

Parking is FREE for Orientation participants in both “A” and “B” lots.  “A” Lot is immediately north of the University Center, and can be accessed via 10th Ave.  “B” Lot is immediately south of the University Center, and can be accessed via 10th Ave. and via 22nd St.

Participants are politely reminded that they will be ticketed if they park in any other lot and fail to display a UNC parking permit.

Staying Overnight

We guarantee overnight accommodations in our residence halls for all new students.

Students will stay in Wiebking Hall which has air-conditioning and a community-style bathroom for participants, meaning that showering facilities are centrally located on each floor.  Linens are provided; we recommend bringing a pillow, toiletries, and shower shoes.
