Traditional Meal Plans

Fall 2009 / Spring 2010 meal Plans

Step #1: Choose Your Meal Plan

Freshman Options:

Freshmen have three meal plan options! Choose from the 250, 200, or 19 Meal Plan. All freshmen meal plans come with Dining Dollars. Build a meal plan customized to you.

  • 250 Meal Plan + 100 Dining Dollars = $ 2,685
This Meal Plan gives students 250 meals to use throughout the semester however they choose. Students can take a friend to eat in the dining room & grab a Gourmet To Go or Bear on the Run -- all in the same meal period. If students run out of meals, they can always purchase more at Bear Plan prices. Be sure to customize your meal plan by adding Dining Dollars.
  • 200 Meal Plan + 50 Dining Dollars = $ 2,220
This meal plan acts just like the 250 Meal Plan listed above, only you get 200 meals and 50 dining dollars instead. Be sure to customize your meal plan by adding Dining Dollars.
  • 19 Meal Plan + 50 Dining Dollars = $ 2,210
This meal plan gives students access to every meal served throughout the semester. Access meals during Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, Monday-Friday & Brunch and Dinner, Saturday–Sunday. (Students are automatically assigned the 19 Meal Plan if a different one isn't chosen before the Drop Deadline listed below.) Be sure to customize your meal plan by adding Dining Dollars and Guest Passes.

Upperclassman Options:

Choose from the three Traditional Meal Plans listed above or any of these listed here:

  • 175 Meal Plan + 250 Dining Dollars = $ 2,145
This Meal Plan gives you 175 meals to use throughout the semester however you choose. Take a friend with you to eat in the dining room & grab a Gourmet To Go or Bear on the Run -- all in the same meal period. If you run out of meals, you can always purchase more. Be sure to customize your meal plan by adding Dining Dollars.
  • 15 Meal Plan (no initial Dining Dollars included) = $ 2,110
Access your meals during Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner: Monday–Friday only. Be sure to customize your meal plan by adding Dining Dollars and Guest Meal Passes.
  • 14 Meal Plan (no initial Dining Dollars included) = $ 2,080
Access your meals during Lunch and Dinner: Monday–Sunday only. Be sure to customize your meal plan by adding Dining Dollars and Guest Meal Passes.

Notes: The 19, 15, and 14 Meal Plans are set up to accept only one "swipe" per meal period. The 250, 200, and 175 Meal Plans are flexible... students are able to use unlimited "swipes" per meal period. Students living in the residence halls will automatically be assigned the 19 Meal Plan + 50 Dining Dollars if a different Traditional Meal Plan isn't chosen by the University Published drop deadline. Please remember that all meal plans are good for one semester only.

Step #2: Add Guest Meal Passes *NEW*

If students carry the 19, 15, or 14 Meal Plan, they are eligible to purchase Guest Passes. Customize your meal plan by adding these meal passes so you can bring guests with you into the dining room.

  • 10 Guest Meal Passes $90

Step #3: Add Dining Dollars

Dining Dollars allows students to purchase food and beverage items at campus retail food locations using their UNC Card. Students who carry the 250, 200, 19, or 175 Traditional Meal Plan will automatically receive Dining Dollars. Any UNC student can purchase Dining Dollars in increments of $25.

Residence Hall Meal Plan Requirements

All students living in a residence hall are required to carry a Traditional Meal Plan throughout the academic year. Freshmen can now choose to carry the 250, 200, or 19 Meal Plan. The 19 Meal Plan will automatically be assigned to all students living in the residence halls in accordance with their housing contract.

Those students living in the residence halls who are at least 20 years old or who have 20 earned credits are eligible to reduce down to one of the lesser Traditional Meal Plans offered. All meal plan changes must be done by the contract owner by the University published Drop Deadline.
